Susan Clardy G'12

Dr. Susan M. Clardy G'12 is a Scientist in the Discovery Analytical Chemistry Department at Mersana Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company located in Boston. Dr. Clardy has utilized her multi-disciplinary expertise to characterize Mersana's polymer-based antibody drug conjugates enabling the advancement of therapeutic to clinical trials. Dr. Clardy was a first generation student who earned her PhD in Chemistry under the guidance of Professor Robert P. Doyle. Her research at Syracuse established the viability of vitamin B12 for the oral delivery of peptides and proteins. After Syracuse, Dr. Clardy continued her training at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital as a NIH T32 post doctoral researcher. There, she developed peptide-based fluorescent tools for basic and translational diabetes research and used extracellular vesicle-based protein marker profiling to identify a signature of markers for an improved pancreatic cancer diagnostic.
